A Simmonds hood conversion for £575? Not quite...
Up till now if you've wanted a Simmonds hood conversion for your Morgan, your car had to visit the Simmonds premises. But now, you can carry out a conversion in your own garage! Utilizing your original hood, and our header rail system, you can tell other Morgan owners you have the 'fastest hood in the wet'
For the quickest erection time, you can leave the rear part of the hood attached to the car, and the front lift the dot clips clipped onto your new header rail. You can now simply drop the header rail onto the top of the screen and clamp it into position. Re-tension the hood using J.T Tensioners, and you are off!

A simular header rail system is already on more than 2000 Morgans, but at last, this is one that can be exported easily for D.I.Y fitment.
The kit consists of:

Stainless steel studded EasyFit header rail

2x over centre catches for header rail
-
2x windscreen mounted over centre hooks
-
2x rubber seals for header rail
-
New smooth chrome plated brass windscreen top frame

Replacement Windscreen pillars.
This conversion will work with both everflex (pvc) and mohair hoods. But please note, it does depend on your original hood being a good fit. This will fit all 2 Seater 9-dot and 10-dot windscreens (please specify in options below) and all 4 seaters 10-dot and 9-dot windscreens (please specify in options below). This is not Aero or Factory smooth frame compatiable.
Fitting Instructions:
Remove screen off car, remove stainless steel side irons off screen, undo bottom phillips brass screw which holds frame together. Pull the frame off glass, being careful not to twist the frame as this will break the glass.
Using a windscreen cleaner solution, spray onto original rubber, to help put the new windscreen frame on, now refit the brass screws. Now put the new modified stainless steel irons back on, be careful they are handed left and right! Also, please note: The top and middle screws are shorter than the bottom screw. Refit screen back onto car, remembering to feed wires back through if it is heated. any problems contact us.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to add additional sun-visors to your easy-fit header rail, we can fit them to your rail before it is sent out to you. BUT you will have to specify which colour sun-visor you wish to have (either green, blue or smoke grey). Please specify this in the additional notes / information section of the order.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have the perspex wind deflectors fitted to your screen they will need extensive modifying to work with this header rail, we suggest you fit the simmonds wind-wings
